The Vallet Scholarship was founded by Dr. Odon Vallet from his voluntary contribution. He is a Doctor of Law and a Professor of Religion in Sorbonne University, Republic of France. Vallet is currently the biggest scholarship that has the most long-lasting operation in Vietnam for consecutive 16 years. Until 2016, 30,000 scholarships with a total amount of over 150 billion dong have been granted; the number and value of scholarships have increased steadily over the years.

In 2016, 190 students of excellence from Quang Binh University, Quang Binh Ethnic Boarding School, Vo Nguyen Giap Gifted High School, SOS Children’s Village, students from High Schools in the districts of Tuyen Hoa, Minh Hoa, Quang Trach, Bo Trach, Quang Ninh, Le Thuy, the town of Ba Don and the city of Dong Hoi were granted Vallet scholarships with an amount of 7 million dong each for school students and 12 million dong each for undergraduate students. In this Ceremony, especially, a special scholarship of 14 million dong was awarded to Nguyen The Quynh – student of Vo Nguyen Giap Gifted High School for his outstanding achievements: Silver Medal in Asian Physics Olympiad held in Hong Kong in May 2016 and Gold Medal in International Physics Olympiad held in Switzerland in July 2016.

Awarding scholarship to students of excellence

These scholarships mean both materially and spiritually to excellent students and were handed to them by the Sponsor in order to encourage their unceasing pursuit of education. Being awarded scholarship is the joy and pride of students themselves and of their schools and parents as well.

Addressing at the Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Odon Vallet expressed his pleasure in the efforts that students from Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh have made in the academic year 2015 - 2016. He committed that Vallet Scholarship will continue to accompany and assist more and more students who overcome difficulties to get excellent academic results in the coming years.
